The Wayne County Association of Assessing Officers (WCAAO) plays a pivotal role in the realm of education for property assessment and taxation within Wayne County and the State of Michigan. This professional organization brings together a diverse and dedicated community of assessing officers, property appraisers, and taxation experts who work tirelessly to uphold the integrity of property assessment practices throughout the county and state.

Our Purpose

The purpose of this association shall be the improvement of assessment administration.  The purpose shall be advanced by providing a forum for disseminating information relative to assessment administration; by encouraging legislation to improve the standards of assessment practice; by offering educational classes and scholarships among those engaged in assessment administration, as well as the general public; and by cooperating with public and private agencies interested in improving assessment practices. Although the boundaries of this organization shall generally be confined to Wayne County, elected Officers and members at large serving on the Executive Board shall be employed in the Assessing profession within Wayne County.
